Complete Causes And Effects Of Frustration On Secretaries Project Materials (Chapters 1 to 5):
This research work tends to scrutinize the causes and effects of frustration on Nigerian secretaries with particular reference to Nigerian breweries plc 9th mile corner faces some problems like vandalization of office stationeries, crates of beers, misuse of office facilities like telephone among others.
These problems and other yet to be discovered moved the researcher to the topic. THE CAUSES AND EFFECT OF FRUSTRATION ON NIGERIAN SECRETARIES. To achieve this aim, the researcher divided the work into chapters.
Chapter one deals with introduction, and background of the study. Also statement of the problems, purpose , significance and research questions were included in chapter one.
Chapter tow treated review of related literature. This reviewed some work carried out by other people which has related to the study.
Chapter three was on the method of data analysis, this the researcher used simple percentages and tables in the analysis of the data. This she found to be more suitable to a descriptive research of the nature. The population of the secretaries in Nigeria Breweries PLC 9th mile corner Enugu was relatively small which made the researcher to use the whole population of 20 secretaries working in Nigerian Breweries.
Chapter four was on the presentation and analysis of data
Chapter five treated the findings conclusions and recommendations. In the findings, it was discovered that secretaries in Nigerian breweries are frustrated. Also that majority of them were stagnated for many years and that over time allowances were not being paid to those who work over time. The study showed that secretaries are sharing offices with other staff numbering two to four while they are not allowed to participate in the decision making especially the ones concerning them.
In the training and re-training of staff, secretaries are not beneficiaries to the scheme. This makes them to be obsolete and to be over taken by the automation. But it as the opinion of Isiaku ES (2005) that any secretary who would like to join the band wagoa of technology should be involved in training and re-training on the modern technological equipment.
It was concluded that series efforts should be made top bridge the secretaries of NB PLC 9th mile corner Enugu on the aforementioned issues.
Finally, recommendations was made as follows
1. That the ban on promotion of secretaries in Nigerian breweries should be lifted
2. That they should have staff development units to take care of the training and re-training of staff in Nigeria breweries
3. That modern communication equipment should be provided for secretaries to reduce fatigue on repetitive work.
4. That the management of the brewery look into the problems caused by frustration and reduce the frustration on secretaries as well as other allied workers in the company.
5. The management on the management of their secretaries should adopt that human relation approach.
6. Those secretaries should make sure that they are trained before looking for employment especially in Nigerian breweries.
7. That the management should have re-think on the importance of training to both the employer and the employees.
8. That participatory management should be adopted by the managements to ensure industrial peace, reduce staff turnover and for overall achievement of organizational goals.

INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Life is an adventure; I wonder how many people look at it that way. If you loot at the world around, you can see worried faces of people in buses, cars as you go to school or work in the morning. You will probably come to understand that many of us look bad. The reason is not far fetched. It is mainly dissatisfaction of one thing or the other which job is the major one.
It will not be an over statement to say that the origin of frustration to mankind dates as far back as the biblical injunction of Cain and Abel. Since then cases of frustration can be heard amidst schools, families, friends, individuals and moreover in the working environment where the researcher is restricting the research to.
Job frustration is like a song on the lips of every Nigerian. For instance, you put up a memorandum, asking for a change in the method of receiving and displaying letters and the next moving, you will find your memorandum in a waste paper basket, unattended to, definitely you will be frustrated. Also an applicant who attended an interview waiting for an appointment letter only to be informed that federal character commission has disqualified him because of his state of origin. Naturally, he will be disappointed and frustrated at the same time.
The researcher takes a critical look at the effect of frustration on Nigerian secretaries using Nigerian breweries plc Enugu as case study
It is the candid belief of the researcher that for an organization like Nigerian breweries to achieve her objectives effectively and efficiently problems of frustration among secretaries in her work should be studied, found and solved amicably.
Nigerian breweries plc was incorporated in 1964 with the headquarters of No. 1 Abebe village road, Iguam, Lagos and has five other locations scattered all over country. These include Lagos Brewery, where the first bottle of star larger beer role out in 1949. Aba Brewery, commissioned in 1957, Kaduna 1963 and Ibandan Brewery in 1982, followed by Enugu Brewery acquired in September 1993 as the fifth brewery.
The Enugu Brewery was opened in 1993 about the same period when the country was passing through a serious political crisis accessioned by the annulment of the presidential election of Abiola Saga. The plan was acquired from the defund diamond Breweries. It is situated at 9th mile corner, Nsude in Udi local government Area of Enugu limited was as a result large scale was as a result of large scale financial and management ineptitude, the acquisition of the Brewery by Nigerian Breweries PLC was incongruent with the number of the development of the other four breweries owned by the company. The immediate problem was the management of both material and human resources. This was even more so because of social-cultural set up of the brewery environment. The question of how to manage and appraise the human resources available to the young brewery became necessary. These and other issues that will be highlighted in the course of the study led to the desire to work on the project of “The effect of frustration on Nigerian secretaries. 1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEMS
The Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary of current English by Hornby A.S defined frustration as an act of preventing some body’s plan from being carried out.
Nigerian breweries plc 9th mile corner Enugu from the researcher’s observation has been facing a lot of problem. These are both individual and corporate goals, the mainly to these facts, the problem of exodus of experienced secretaries to look for greener pastures was the order of the day. This could head to indebtedness employee’s absenteeism and low labor turnover.
These the researcher caused by frustration. For instance, the following resulted
1. Vandalisation of crates of beer and some other items under the secretaries care
2. Illegal business among some members of staff and outsiders
3. Misuse of office facilities
4. Delay in payment of some moth’s salaries.
All these worthless instances gave the researcher a source of concern. To solve these problems, the researcher wants to do the following
1.3 PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
Many people today are becoming increasingly interested in the problem of secretaries frustration in their job. This is because many articles have been published on journals, seminars, workshops, debates and market places, face to face interviews on the frustration faced by secretaries today.
The purpose or objective of this study is to identify on the causes of frustration on the part of secretaries and try to know the effect as well.
On the other hand, the researcher will ascertain whether the frustration is being caused by secretaries themselves or the work environment. Lastly, the researcher will advice solutions to the problems of frustration in Nigerian breweries and recommend actions to be taken to forestall future occurrence
1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The essence of this research is to identify the causes of frustration and find out how far it has affected the secretaries in the organization and possible advice solutions as well as recommend actions to be taken to guard against future occurrence.
However, the study will be significant to the managers whose primary function among others, to provide the most conducive working atmosphere for their secretaries.
This research is hoped to be a valuable source of reference to potential secretaries and researchers.
1.5 SCOPE OF THE STUDY
Naturally, the nature of this research topic demands a survey of the entire Nigerian populace in various organization before drawing a valid conclusion. However, this is not possible because of the enormity of the population of secretaries in Nigerian, including other constraints confronting the researcher.
Nevertheless, a popular organization in Enugu state has been selected to present Nigerian secretaries. NIGERIAN BREWERIES PLC ENUGU. It is the researcher’s fervent as a fair and true representation of the entire secretaries since frustration is believed to be similar or nearly the same as the world over.
1.6 RESEARCH QUESTION
Research questions are questions that probe into the topic under research, which if the respondents answer it, has given way to the solutions of the research. However, the research question of this study are as follows
