INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
Indiscipline may be seen as quality of individual always doing things in a wrong way by neglecting the rules and regulations. The oxford advanced learners dictionary, defines it as lack of control in the behaviours of a group of people. In other words, it is the inability of a person to live in accordance with rules.
Tuhuhi and Beilo (1980) saw indiscipline as the breaking of rules and regulations of institutions. Individuals willingly or unwillingly violate laid down rules of an institution, which hampers the smooth running of the institution.
Adeyemo (1985) say that indiscipline can simply be seen as mode of life not in conformity with rule and non-subjection to control. By extension, the term connects the violations of school rules and regulations capable of obstructing the smooth and orderly functioning of school system.
According to farrant J.A. (1992) defined indiscipline as disorderliness lack of self-control and behaviours that manifested itself in human beings.
Adeyemi (1999) saw indiscipline as bane of disorder mischief and bunch of insecurity in the society, caused by our young generation especially secondary school students the authority explained that indiscipline exhibited by you this includes,
Examination malpractice.
Indecent dressing, such as not putting on the correct school uniform, sawing it in a wrong way, not putting on the correct school sandal etc.
Loitering about while the class is going on.
Coming to school late
truancy
Lying
Bulling
According to Tuluki and Bello (1994); Indiscipline is central to the factors which are responsible for the decline of education in Nigeria. The involvements of young people in anti-sowed behaviour have seriously increased in intensity and magnitude in recent years. The occurrence of indiscipline acts which is in high percentage has become source of worry for our parent, teachers, social workers and psychology gist. All are anxious of eliminating the rising trend of indiscipline acts in the society and especially among secondary school students in Enugu north local government area Enugu state.
Most people in one way or the other have witnessed serious increase of the societal evil or disorder which grows out and very much alarming in secondary schools, especially in Enugu north. This disorderliness was highly contributed by many factors.
According to Adeyemo (1985); peer group; it is one of that factors that constitute to the high level of indiscipline because some students makes friends without knowing the implications. A student can find himself in a peer group that is not good, that is those students who comes to school late, those who discuss why the class is going on, those who does not stay in the class room etc. so when a student happens to join this peer-group, he will eventually behaviour like them which will help increase the level of indiscipline because there is a quote which says (show me your friend and I will tell you who you are). Humidity, there are some student whose parents are naturally bad. That is those parents who make trouble with people outside, insult people and even get to the extent of fighting. Etc. the children of such parents are not expected to be have different from their parents because they will eventually inherit. Such attitude and by fighting their follow student, insult them teachers, and engage with so many things that is against the school rules and regulations.
Economic background of the students, Adeyemo 1999 says that there are some students who are house help, so such student fined it difficult to come to school early, because they have too many house choose to finish before coming to school. This make them come to school late, there by disobeying the school rules and regulations.
Moral decadence, the government non- challant attitude towards welfare care of the school; Teachers’ attitude towards work and economic condition of the country. Etc.

There was high level of discipline in the school system then because teachers are always there to guide the students on what to do and what not to do.
But now the high level of indiscipline can never be over emphasized. Students do no longer obey the school rules and regulations any more. This is a result of poor system of administration, student come to school any time they like, you find out some people or student going before the dismissal time, sleeping while the class in going on, putting on the wrong uniform, fighting among themselves.
