1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Leadership style is an important factor in any organization. This is because it plays a very important role in work’s productivity, job satisfaction, favorable work environment as well as healthy work relations between the employee and employer. For the purpose of this research study, I shall dwell more on he healthy work relation between employees and employers but I will narrow it down to Secretary\Boss relationship. I shall try to x-ray the leadership style effect on Secretary\Boss relationship and productivity.

This will help to check loss of job satisfaction n the side of the secretary and poor productivity on the side of loss

A leader can also be seen as one who occupies the highest position in an organization, influencing his subordinates to achieve group that the leadership style is vested on the leader. According to Nwosu (1996), leadership is a managerial ability to accomplished group goals that is sometimes referred to as a partner to the boss.
Leadership style represents the various approached through which leadership goals and objectives are accomplished. Leadership style of the situation demands the style must depends on the prevailing situation or circumstances.
Bekwe (1981) saw leadership style as a major factor in the motivation of an employee. A good leadership style gains secretaries commitment to work and elates good
behaviors towards increased productivity. Conversely, a bad leadership style constitutes unwholesome working environment and a poor relationship between the secretary and the boss thereby resulting in poor performance and low productivity.

1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
If is common thing to walk into an office and find a secretary looking so worn out and dejected. A closer watch on her will tell you that he\she loots the presence of him or her boss. This is not because of the numerous tasks the secretary has to perform in the office rather it is the aftermath of a stained relationship between her and the boss. When there is the type of situation, the secretary will not concentrate on her job. She commits a lot of mistake and her boss will not take it kindly with he for these mistake. A time she makes mistakes that are too costly and may put her job on the line. The boss who id not harming it easy with her because of the kind of leadership style he adopted will to exhibit his bossy position by taking disciplinary action against the secretary. The type of situation is not in the best interest of the organization since it may lead to low productivity and high staff turnover.

1.3 PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
This research study will try to x-ray the effect of leadership style on secretary \ boss relationship. It try to investigate the type of leadership style adopted by bosses in selected establishments with the views of finding out the most wanted or appreciated leadership style the least wanted and their effects on secretary \ boss relationship and productivity. At the end of this research study Company executives will know the best form of leadership style adopt so as to maintain good report with their secretaries. This research study will also bring out findings on the effect of different leadership style on secretaries\boss relationship with the view to preferring solution to them.

1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
At the end of this study, we should be able to know the leadership style is the best for certain situations.
